Do I need CAD experience?
No. You describe the home in ordinary words — how many bedrooms, roughly how big, what shape roof — and ForgeHome writes the parametric CAD for you. Everything after that is sliders and plain-language follow-ups.
Is the output a picture or a real model?
A real model. ForgeHome generates parametric CAD code that is executed by Replicad, a WASM CAD kernel running in your browser, and rendered with Three.js. You can orbit it, change its parameters, and watch the geometry rebuild — none of which an image generator can do.
How much does it cost?
One design prompt costs one Lumora credit, and the free tier includes 20 credits a month. Credits are shared across every Lumora product and are topped up in one place: your account centre at id.lumorabuild.com/account.
Do I need a separate ForgeHome account?
No. ForgeHome uses your Lumora account, so one sign-in works across every Lumora product. If you have ever used a Lumora product, you already have one.
Does it run on my machine or in the cloud?
Both, deliberately. The AI step runs server-side on Cloudflare Workers, and the CAD kernel plus 3D viewer run locally in your browser — so tweaking a parameter rebuilds the model instantly, without a round trip.
Can I export what I design?
Yes. Projects save to your account with their code, parameters, camera and materials, and models can be exported from the workspace.
Is this a substitute for an architect?
No — and it isn't trying to be. ForgeHome is for exploring ideas fast and showing people what you mean, long before anyone draws construction documents. Treat the output as a design sketch in 3D, not an engineered plan.
